For tilers

Information for tile-layers about how to get the best results from the Atlantis tiled shower system.

Preparation of the Base before Tiling.

You can tile directly onto the gel-coated EasyTile shower base using Mapei Keralastic which must be mixed correctly. Or when the base interlayer membrane is applied onto the base (recommended option), you can use a much wider choice of recommended tile adhesives:

  • Mapei - Kerabond with Isolastic
  • Mobile Ceramics - Latacrete Lataflex
  • Mobile Ceramics - Lataflex Gold
  • Polymer Engineering - Flexiwall & Floor (2-part)
  • RLA Polymers - Resin Flex (2-part); Butyl Bond
  • Jacobsens - Davco Powder Mastic
  • Jacobsens - Ultraflex
  • Kerakoll - H40 Flex
  • Kerakoll - Flexiwall & Floor - 2part

Download instruction sheet.

Before tiling please ensure that the Base Interlayer Membrane is firmly adhered to the shower base. If it has come loose or has unpeeled in any way, you may need to contact the shower installer to remedy before proceeding.

Tile adhesive curing time

For most tile adhesives we recommend allowing up to 3 days for the tile adhesive to cure prior to applying the grout.. Where Mapei Kerabond + Isolastic is used, grout can be applied after 24 hours.

Bondbreaker

Please ensure recommended silicons are used when sealing tiles onto membrane:

  • Bostik - Roof & Gutter (white)
  • Selleys - Roof & Gutter (white)
  • Fosroc - Silaflex NG Bathroom (white)
  • Holdfast - Plumber (white)
  • Protecto Wrap - Bond Break sealant
If not using a silicon sealant , please ensure (supplied) blue bondbreaker tape is used to prevent your silicon coming into contact with the membrane.
